You come out of dance class and cool off by jumping in the pool with all your dancing friends. All of a sudden your first Swim Sham starts, followed by everybody doing Frog Jumps, SwimOuts and Underwater Turns. The delicious smell of the BBQ lures you to the beach where you play volleyball, practice aerials or wrestle canaries.

The Live Band begins with a steal dance to start the party and within the first song you have danced with everyone and can't wait to get seconds. Partying on till the wee hours and finishing with Blues dancing under the Stars...

You go to bed happy, dreaming about another day at Camp Canary.

Like 2011, NWBR is renting an 86 acre rock quarry gone circus community south of Bellingham, WA. We have access to a hard-wood floored yurt and an aerialists warehouse with radiant-heated floors for late nights, flooded quarry pits for daytime swimming and cliff jumping, and thousands of surrounding acres of national forest for hiking, exploring, and dancing!

London's Mouthful O' Jam has paired up with the American based Blues Recess Contingent to host European Blues Invasion, an unparalleled Blues dance weekend February 2nd through 5th.

Taking place in London's historic Alexandra Palace, we'll be throwing four nights of Blues dancing and three FULL days of blues workshops. Not only that, but we are flying in six top-level American blues instructors and DJs to head the workshops and musical lineup. Swing Era Festival

The Golden Age of Swing is back. In late March, the Polish capital of jazz will take a trip back in time to the period when swing ruled the dance floors! The program will encompass dance, music, motion picture and fashion from this past era.

World famous dancers and instructors are part of the 2nd edition of the Festival. DAX HOCK &SARAH BRECK, MAX ANGELO PITRUZELLA, MINDAUGAS
BIKAUSKAS & GIEDRE PAPLAITYTE will be leading dance workshops during the Festival (3 skill levels, up to 15 hours of workshops).
The program concentrates primarily on Lindy Hop but there will also be other swing techniques such as Solo Vintage Jazz, Charleston, Tap Dance and Blues, aerials. There will also be classes for those that are just beginning to swing.

Also in program:
Dance parties/jazz concerts, dance shows, movies from the 30's and 40's, a lecture on the history of Swing, an exhibition of vintage cars, fashion from the Golden Age of Swing.

Last year’s Urban (Alt) Blues Recess’ industrial aesthetic was inspiring, and this year the pendulum swings us to Lost Valley, an intentional ecovillage in the wooded foothills of the Cascades. Three days and four nights of alt-blues and trad-blues music pumping into the liminal hours of dawn, daytimes filled wondering the miles of trails and numerous swimming holes on-site, the same mind-expanding skill-share workshops of yesteryear’s UBR with six to ten workshops at a time (!), a community meal plan with an all local, organic, and seasonal menu, live acts spanning the talents of the recess community, and all with the usual, Recess-patented ‘dancing to generators in the woods’ on the 87 acres of Lost Valley Ecovillage. Its going to be quite the experience!
